Valentine’s Day: Some Words Of Love From Me To You
As I look back on previous years, I can only recall one time I had a Valentine. My sophomore year of high school: my boyfriend Sergio surprised me by my locker, holding a single rose on Valentines Day, which also happened to be our one month anniversary. I swear I thought I would marry that man… it’s funny to see how my perception of love has changed since then.
Today, as I spend yet another Valentine’s day single, I have to admit… I’m not really affected by it anymore. Of course it would be wonderful to have someone to give added affection to on love’s biggest day, but “holidays” like this are just another ploy for corporate America to make you feel pressured to buy gifts and expensive dinners for that loved one whom you should do all this for on a regular basis anyway.
I look forward to having someone special one day… you know, that good love. That we renew our vows every year, show PDA, always smiling kind of love. I know it’s in my future, so for the time being, I don’t mind watching each Valentine’s Day pass my single ass by. Until then, I will just relish in the fact that I have plenty of people in my life that I have love for. Obviously my family & close friends, but also for the men that have come in and out of my life over the years. I just want to thank each and every one of you. I never forget people, especially when we have shared enough together for them to leave a lasting impression on me, and all the love shared and memories created are what I refer to on holidays like this when everyone feels the need to brag about their current relationships.
So Happy Valentine’s Day to all of you… I have so much love for all of you. Although some of you don’t speak to me anymore and some of you have girlfriends or wives now, I just want you to know that you will always have a special place in my heart and I will continue to think of all of the love we have shared for future years to come. And for those of you in relationships this V-day… enjoy! Take this day to celebrate or rekindle your love for one another, be happy, and have some killer sex after that stereotypical dinner date!
For my fellow single-mingles, men and women alike, don’t be bitter! Someone out there loves you and would love to be your Valentine…and if you can’t find anyone, I gotchu! I have enough love to go around and be everyone’s Valentine… y’all ain’t gettin no celebratory sex though 😉
