Bad Habit #7: Doing Things in Excess

Most people don’t know their limits. Their lack of awareness to these limits often times get them in trouble.  I can’t tell you how many times I have seen grown ass folks drinking themselves into oblivion on a regular basis. Now, of course, we all have our moments; sometimes you’re out celebrating and you just go too hard. But what I am talking about here are the people that constantly over-drink (or do some other self-destructive act) on a regular basis. Blacking out every weekend is not what’s up, especially when you are ages removed from your 21st birthday. KNOW YOUR LIMITS. It’s more than fine to go out and get ya drank on, but there comes a point where your buzz is beyond good and you should be throwing in the towel; there’s no problem turning down a drink. Continuing to drink, exceeding your limit, is only cause for disaster. The friends you are with have to damn near babysit your ridiculous ass and not only does it ruin whatever buzz or good time they were having but you should know better and have some common courtesy. It causes you to text and tweet inappropriate things to all the wrong people at all hours of the night, and you end up waking up the next morning regretful and embarrassed, not to mentioned feeling physically like shit. Show you have some maturity, tone it down a smidge; it speaks volumes of someone in their mid-late 20’s or 30’s who can’t hold their liquor intake and chooses to ignore their limits regularly. There’s no reason you cant enjoy yourself without having to take it to extremes; you might actually even remember how good of a time you had. Who woulda thought?
