40 Days, 40 Habits You Should Break; Day #30: Being Melodramatic
Bad Habit #30: Being Melodramatic
If you thought about it, I bet you could name a handful of people who can turn even the most insignificant situation into a huge crisis. It can range from traffic making you late to your boyfriend forgetting to take the trash out, but being melodramatic is something a majority of us do on a daily basis. No one’s life is perfect, and those times of imperfection shouldn’t require us to cause a scene. Creating drama out of every scenario is flat out annoying and often times unnecessary. Working yourself up because Starbucks got your order wrong or because your boss has you doing extra work is a huge waste of your energy and stress calories. Simply taking a moment to take a breath and address the problem calmly is all you need to do. No one around you wants to hear you bitch and moan about every intricate detail of your life, especially when others have bigger, more serious, problems than you appear to have. You wouldn’t want people thinking you have histrionic personality disorder, now would you?
