Bad Habit #15: Doing Things For Others & Not Yourself

A bad habit a lot of people have is doing things for others more so than doing them for themselves. My generation only does things these days because they will impress upon other people. For example, I know too many women who are going out and buying “red bottoms” just because they are talked about in rap songs and they think it makes them look rich. Half these girls 1) can’t even afford them 2) Don’t even know that “red bottoms” aren’t their real name and 3) can’t even walk in them. So if all those statements are true, why the hell you going out and buying them? Stop doing things for others, do them for you. Go buy the nicer Giuseppe shoes that no one knows about; be original and creative in what you do and stop doing things for the wrong reasons. Whatever you do in life should be because it benefits you and is something you want or believe in, it shouldn’t be done to try and gain attention from other people because in the long run, ain’t nobody worried aboutchu!! Females out here damn near going broke over red bottoms as to try and impress people, but when you’re going broke and can’t even pronounce Louboutin, how do you think that makes you look? Start doing better about your priorities! Some of you go out of your way to seek approval , and it becomes a self-imposed burden when almost all your behavior toward certain people is designed to constantly reassure you of their approval.  This habit will drive you crazy, wear you out, and truly make you resentful; BREAK THE CYCLE!
